Job Description

Based in Ovar, Portugal, you will lead a team of both electrical and mechanical Maintenance Technicians, and oversee the maintenance and repair of all machinery, equipment, and other assets on our site. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in maintenance and engineering, with experience in process optimization and reliability engineering.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies and regulations
  • Lead and supervise a team of maintenance workers, including support of hiring, training, and performance management
  • Plan, schedule and coordinate all maintenance activities, including inspections, preventive and corrective maintenance programs
  • Support the team Identifying and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions. Implement corrective actions to reduce downtime and improve machine reliability
  • Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and opportunities for process optimization and improvement
  • Collaborate with Production teams to identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts and equipment
  • Track and report maintenance activities and costs. Support maintenance budget forecasting and tracking.
  • Develop and sustain strong relationships with equipment manufacturers and external providers, to ensure timely and cost-effective parts and maintenance services sourcing
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to plan and execute capital projects and equipment upgrades

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Supervisor or similar role
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • English language skills, both verbal and written
