Operational Buyer

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Continuously check mechanical parts requisitions and timely place the purchase orders according to centrally outlined category strategy, supplier selection and pricing;

• Liaise with transport planners and provide the necessary information to organize transports;

• Actively follow-up the supply chain flow and scheduled deliveries to assure lead times;

• Anticipate or delay purchase orders based on priorities and planning revisions;

• Internally report supplyment constraints to adjust planning and submit supplier complaints;

• Maintain a close relation with suppliers and provide inputs on supplier performance (delivery, quality, etc.) to central category managers for regular supplier evaluation;

• Validate invoices and resolve potential invoice blocks due to quantity or price discrepancies.

Skills for success

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Material Management;

• Knowledge of mechanical parts production process

• Solid English skills, both verbal and written (French is a plus);

• Intermediate / Expert level MS Excel user;

• Experienced ERP user (SAP is a plus);

• Figures and data driven mindset, able to act in a fast-moving environment.
