
Operational Buyer
Based in Ovar, Portugal, you will assure that mechanical parts are ordered on time, actively follow-up the supply chain flow to ensure delivery lead times, provide supplier performance inputs, report supplyment constraints and check invoices.
What do we expect from you?
Tasks & Responsibilities
Continuously check mechanical parts requisitions and timely place the purchase orders according to centrally outlined category strategy, supplier selection and pricing;
Liaise with transport planners and provide the necessary information to organize transports;
Actively follow-up the supply chain flow and scheduled deliveries to assure lead times;
Anticipate or delay purchase orders based on priorities and planning revisions;
Internally report supplyment constraints to adjust planning and submit supplier complaints;
Maintain a close relation with suppliers and provide inputs on supplier performance (delivery, quality, etc.) to central category managers for regular supplier evaluation;
Validate invoices and resolve potential invoice blocks due to quantity or price discrepancies.
Skills for success
Minimum 3 years’ experience in Material Management;
Knowledge of mechanical parts production process
Solid English skills, both verbal and written (French is a plus);
Intermediate / Expert level MS Excel user;
Experienced ERP user (SAP is a plus);
Figures and data driven mindset, able to act in a fast-moving environment.
