The Structural Engineer supports the project engineers with calculations during the pre-design at the quotation stage and prepares static calculation documents upon delivery of the project. He is also the basis of certain calculation algorithms and maintains the databases of the used calculation software.
The main tasks of the Structural Engineer:
- Stability calculations according to the prevailing standards for steel structures (Eurocode and rack specific EN standards) with regard to safety and stability, valid for the country concerned.
- Able to explain and maintain calculations if necessary.
- Responsible for the testing of materials and the management and interpretation of the tests performed.
- Software development in collaboration with external parties in order to standardize certain calculation processes.
