Job Description

As Group Automation Engineer, you have the following responsibilities:

  • You are part of a team that is rolling out an MES project internationally in different European factories and in the US. Here, you act as a PLC specialist to prepare the correct signals for storage in the historian and for visualization.
  • Aftercare, after the MES implementation = bring improvement projects and technical problems to a successful conclusion by working together with internal teams and external companies.
  • Analyze business processes and be able to perform optimizations on PLC and HMI – level
  • Solve problems in the PLC in case of technical failures and train local teams for this. 
  • Make proposals to improve our plants both electrically and software-wise. 
  • Set up Siemens platform for management of all PLC software for all plants – OT network
  • Continuous training on new products and technologies in the racking business.
  • You prepare stow for industry 4.0 masterplan.

Qualifications

  • You preferably have at least a bachelor’s degree in automation or electromechanics;
  • You have excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude; 
  • You are a real team player who can also work independently; 
  • You are fascinated by technology and want to continuously immerse yourself in it; 
  • You have a thorough knowledge of the software packages Siemens S5 and S7 – TIA -HMI – and EWONS;
  • You have a strong electrical aptitude;
  • You have knowledge of communication systems and protocols between machines;
  • You have a no-nonsense mentality;
  • You have experience with MES software configuration;
  • Experience with setting up an OT network is a plus.
